Swami Lalitananda is the president of Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia, Canada. A student of Swami Radha’s since 1979, she served as her personal assistant and editor for eight years. Her path continued under the mentorship of Swami Radhananda, who initiated her into sanyas in 1996. She became the president of the Yasodhara Ashram Society in 2014. Her leadership style is intuitive with a focus on inclusivity, collaboration and intergenerational succession.

Over the years, she has been deeply involved in the teaching at Yasodhara Ashram, emphasizing yoga as a Path of Liberation through self-inquiry and spiritual practices, with actions rooted in daily life. She was previously the president of the Friends of Radha Foundation which oversaw Swami Radha’s teaching centres across Canada, and she helped establish unique centres including Radha Yoga & Eatery in Vancouver and the Rad’a Art Gallery and Yoga Studio in Montréal.

In addition to her teaching, she has contributed to the development of the Ashram’s publications, including writing for Ascent magazine and being an editorial director for Timeless Books. She is also the author of Glimpses of a Mystical Affair and The Inner Life of Asanas.
